‘Pawsome’ news for pet owners visiting rak
If you’re planning to travel to Ras Al-Khaimah and leaving your pet behind is sure to create a void that can’t be filled, we have good news for you. The Emirate is taking its first steps towards becoming a more pet-friendly city. ‘Ras Al-K9’ is a programme launched to welcome their four-legged ‘pawsome’ guests and their pet parents.
The initiative will run across 25 hotels, restaurants, beaches, pet-friendly festivals and outdoor parks across the Emirate. Which means that tourists will now be able to take their pets on outdoor adventures in wadis, on mountain hikes, on beachside walks, desert camping and overnight staycations.
The Ras Al-Khaimah Animal Welfare Centre is the place to be if you have a little doggo of your own. It covers around 7000 square metres of landscaped grounds exclusively for pets, complete with an open-air dog park, a swimming pool for dogs, a fully-equipped Agility Park and a café where the owners can grab a bite.
Part of ‘Ras Al-K9’ is ‘Paws by the Beach’, a two-day long pet-friendly festival being held on Marjan Island on February 26. The first of its kind, it’s going to be a platform aimed to educate people about animal welfare, host exciting competitions and entertainment for cats, dogs and their owners.
The Ras Al-Khaimah Fine Arts Festival, returning for its 10th edition, has a fun weekend itinerary for pet owners and pet lovers alike. A variety of fun activities including workshops, yoga for pets and adoption awareness awaits you from February 18-20.
