We’re clearing our calendar for February 27 to enter animal heaven because the biggest pet event in the Middle East, Dubai Pet Festival, is coming and there’s no way you won’t catch us hovering around some pets.
The event is taking place at Souk Al Marfa at Deira Islands, the waterfront souk and marketplace at Nakheel, from 2pm to 10pm and in the best news we’ve heard this week, is free of charge.
Dog training demonstrations, a Police K9 dog squad show, live dog grooming sessions, fancy dress contests, petting farms, cat shows and pet product exhibitions are just the start of this action-packed day.
Visitors will be able to meet and interact with animal welfare and adoption agencies to educate themselves on all aspects of pets and their well-being, one of the primary aims of hosting such an event.
While you immerse yourself in feline therapy, indulge in some delicious grub from the food stalls at Souk, and remember to wear your mask at all times!
If you have a sweet furry friend who you think can participate in the festival, all you need to do is register your pet at the entrance with a compulsory veterinary check and temperament assessment. Make sure to bring along a valid pet passport with valid vaccinations in accordance with the UAE law.
