Bollywood descends on Abu Dhabi for IIFA 2022

With the stars slated to perform at the 2022 International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA), in Abu Dhabi from June 2-4, start to arrive, the countdown to the Bollywood’s most prestigious awards has truly kicked off.

Salman Khan will be hosting IIFA 2022 along with celebrated host and actor Maniesh Paul and Riteish Deshmukh. While this will be a fun affair to watch, the award function is also expected to feature some very interesting performances from Shahid Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, Kartik Aaryan, and Nora Fatehi among others. In fact, the award function will mark the live stage performance debut of newbie Ananya Panday

On Wednesday, choreographer and director Farah Khan and Aparshakti Khurana, co-hosts of the IIFA Rocks concert, arrived along with the performers, Neha Kakkar, Dhvani Bhanushali, Zahra Khan, Asees Kaur and Tanishk Bagchi. At Yas Island, meanwhile, a vibrantly colourful, larger-than-life mural featuring the leisure and entertainment destination’s brand ambassador, Ranveer Singh, has been unveiled. The destination had launched ‘Yas Hai Khaas’ campaign in India with Ranveer Singh earlier this year. It has received an exceptional engagement across social media with 70 million views and 80 percent of the website traffic in the first 10 days of the video launch.

Besides the hosts and performers, the guest list for the IIFA includes Mithun Chakraborty, Boney Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Lara Dutta, Tamannaah Bhatia, Nargis Fakhri, Bobby Deol, Urvashi Rautela, Arjun Rampal, and Sanya Malhotra, among others. IIFA 2022 was supposed to be held in May but was postponed due to the sudden demise of President of the UAE, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The main event will be held on June 4.
